ABSTRACT
The article discusses research being done on the compensation rates for chief executive officers (CEOs). It references a study M. Terviö published in one of the 2008 issues of "American Economic Review." The author explores various topics, including the motivations for companies to pay within ceratin ranges, the kind of impact a CEO has on a company and the effects that managerial strategies have on market results. The article considers the link between increases in market value and compensation packages.
