ABSTRACT
The author contends that the synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is an essential subsystem for military air-to-ground and air-to-sea operations. A SAR-equipped aircraft can provide its operator a picture of the battlefield that is so sharp in detail it resembles high-resolution, the author said, according to the author. The U.S. Army has received its first Lynx-II radars for its RQ-1C Sky Warrior drone aircraft in 2008.

Circular synthetic aperture radar (CSAR) is different from other usual SAR modes, e.g., Stripmap SAR or Spotlight SAR, which takes a circular path rather than a straight path. In order to detect a buried object quickly and accurately, a fast radar imaging method is presented in this paper. At first, complex backscatter data are computed by using propagation-inside-layer expansion combining the forward and backward method (PILE + FB). Then, a conventional synthetic...

Synthetic Aperture Radar is well known for producing a radar image of the ground, so it can be used for detecting on- the-ground object which is interesting for some applications. A possible application can be Foreign Object Detection (FOD), which is an important issue in aviation safety. A...

Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometry (InSAR) is a geodetic tool widely applied in the studies of earth-surface deformation. This technique has the benefits of high spatial resolution and centimetre-scale accuracy. Differential SAR interferometry (DInSAR) is used to measure ground...

The high squint diving SAR is widely used to provide the information in advance. Large squint angle deduces the deeper coupling of range and azimuth of SAR echoes which makes SAR imaging more difficult. Especially, the large range migration of the deep couple heavily burdens the imaging...

For target detection in SAR images, the sub-aperture coherence analysis is employed widely by calculating coefficient of coherence to express the differences of the target signals in sub-aperture images. However the calculation of coherence coefficients is non-adaptive so that when the amplitude...
