ABSTRACT
The article presents the economic outlook of the Business Monitor International (BMI) for Estonia for 2009. As stated, BMI predicts the country to remain in recession through 2008 and 2009, with real gross domestic product pegged at -2.6% and -3.1%, respectively. Economic risks identified by BMI include negative growth in private consumption and slowing external demand. However, BMI predicts an economic recovery in 2010, which is likely to be mitigated by only limited recovery in credit markets and external demand.
