ABSTRACT
The article presents a risk summary of the political, economic and business conditions in Slovakia as of January 2009. Tensions between Hungary and Slovakia have escalated after Slovak police detained 20 far-right activists on allegations of promoting fascism. Slovak Debt and Liquidity Management Agency head Daniel Bytcanek has disclosed plans of issuing a Eurobond amounting to �1.0-1.5 billion in the first quarter of 2009. Nuclear contracts have been signed by electric utility firm Slovenske Elektrarne with Russian nuclear fuel producer TVEL.
