ABSTRACT
The article discusses the findings from a 2007 survey conducted by the National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors Rapid, whic indicated that the OraQuick Advance test might lead to a high rate of false-positive results when conducted on oral fluid in a low-prevalence emergency department population. In the study, five patients were truly HIV-infected upon confirmation.
