ABSTRACT
The article reports on a debate on educational issues held before the Scottish Parliament on February 7, 2008. According to Minister for Schools and Skills Maureen Watt, the discussions at the Glasgow City Council education services covered the welfare rights of young asylum seekers in Scotland and the rising number of students who use English as an additional language. Meanwhile, Parliament Member Rhona Brankin of Midlothian asked the Scottish Executive regarding the early intervention measures to be implemented for vulnerable two-years-old.
