The article offers information on the contributions of Engine Regional Repair Center (ERRC) as well as the challenges it encountered in the U.S. In 2006, ERRC begun to deliver T56 engines by applying the fundamental principles of Lean manufacturing in line of Air Force Smart Operations for the 21st Century (AFSO21). It states that ERRC utilizes reliability-centered maintenance practices as well as estimated time-on-wing calculations as baselines to create more reliable engines.
