ABSTRACT
This article offers a look at a reshuffling of Senate committee leaders in the U.S. Congress. On Appropriations, Senator Robert C. Byrd announced on November 7, 2008 that he will step down as chairman, effective on January 6, 2008. The gavel will pass to Daniel K. Inouye, who is next in seniority. Inouye will give up the top spot on the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee. Next in line there is Jay Rockefeller, but it is unclear whether he will give up his chairmanship of the Intelligence Committee.
