ABSTRACT
The article explores ways to ensure reliability of a product. One way to ensure reliability is to derate all parts of an assembly for stresses such as temperature, vibration and voltage. The first line of defense in product reliability is destructive physical analysis. The second is field escape control, which refers to a system for examining assemblies that fail functional testing at the end of the line.
