ABSTRACT
The article discusses the possible presence of hostility between God and man. It suggests that the antagonism cannot be attributed to God who is defined by Saint John as love. The hostility felt by man against God may stem from the perception of God's omnipotence. It concludes that mankind only wants to have his own way, and get what he wants, when he wants it and in the manner he wants it.
