ABSTRACT
The article reports on the celebration of the 66th Foundation Day of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) by National Chemical Laboratory (NCL) in India on September 26, 2008. Department of Science and Technology Secretary Doctor T. Ramasami delivered the CSIR Foundation Day Lecture at NCL, in which he discussed the condition of science and technology in the country and the role of CSIR scientists. Awards were given to retired CSIR employees and to students who excelled in the Science Quiz programme of the NCL at the event.
