ABSTRACT
The article reports on the warning of some largest healthcare insurers in Orange County, California to brokers who sell their policies. They caution them that if they combine products they can be denied a commission or throw out of their network. Brokers are being asked to sign statements that they will not combine high-deductible plans with other forms of insurance that cover the deductible. Health plan operators stress that this move of insurers can encourage overuse of insurance money.
