ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the political interest of the Soviet Union in Africa. The Communists have taken advantage of the ending Western colonial rule in the continent for their campaign to covert the Africans to communism. The establishment of the People's Friendship University in Moscow shows Russia's interest to train students for their cause. It adds that the U.S. and the United Nations should help African independence and economic development to avoid the growth of communism in the continent.
