The article reports on the 2.3 percent increase in the sales of Guinness brewing company in Ireland and 6 percent increase in volume around the world. The sales increase is the first time for the famous Irish stout in full year since 2000, according to the article. Diageo, the parent company of Guinness had previously reported a 3 percent year on year sales increase for the second half of 2007, however sales of the stout were down by 7 percent in their previous yearly report.
