ABSTRACT
The article reports that InterContinental Hotels has been able to meet a forecasted 29% increase in profits for the first half of 2008. The increase has boosted its shares and has allowed the British group to sign up a record number of new U.S. hotels in the U.S. since January 2008. The U.S. market accounts for almost 70% of its profits.
