ABSTRACT
The article offers information on the performance of specialty steel in the U.S. The importation of total specialty steel, including stainless steel, alloy tool steel and electrical steel, hit 613,510 tons in the first seven months of 2008, manifesting a 0.2 percent increase in the same period in 2007 while the U.S. consumption was 1,489,742 tons, an 11.5 percent decrease through July 2008.
