ABSTRACT
The article offers information on the financial performance of various steel companies in the U.S. AK Steel reported a quarterly net income of $188.3 for the third quarter of 2008 while Alcoa's income dropped more than 50 percent during the third quarter of 2008. Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. reported a third quarter net income of $152.5 million, manifesting an increase of up to 63% as compared with the third quarter of 2007.
