ABSTRACT
The article discusses the progress made in antibacterial therapy practices. Bacterial pathogens have developed numerous molecular resistance mechanisms in response to antibacterial agents. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) has evolved as a threat to surgery. The Ocular Tracking Resistance in the U.S. Today program has incorporated MRSA isolate susceptibility testing results across U.S. and reports that 85% of all MRSA isolates were resistant to fluroquinolones.
