ABSTRACT
The article reports on the assessment being made by the Committee of European Securities Regulators (CESR) on the effects of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) a year after implementation date to clarify post-trade transaction reporting policies. Focus is reportedly on market transparency and integrity, regulated markets, multilateral trading facilities and systematic internalizers. Divergence among regulators on how transaction data should be reported is discussed along with difficulties in ensuring transparency.
