ABSTRACT
The article discusses several issues and events in the U.S. in 1946. A group of mostly women were allegedly lined-up in Illinois to buy scarce overalls which is said to signify how times have changed. A divorce case in Baltimore, Maryland, in which the wife, who used "Honey" as a term of endearment to her husband, fascinated the judge. An incident in Illinois, wherein a husband beat up his wife for supposedly telling his girlfriend of his marital status, is said to indicate the decreasing number of faithful spouses.
