ABSTRACT
The article profiles John L. Lewis, chief of the Congress of Industrial Organizations (C.I.O.). It mentions that Lewis is a competent organizer and has led the United Mine Workers of America. He taught 4,000,000 unorganized wage-slaves, succeeded on organizing labor in industries and was trusted both by employers and employees because of his fidelity to his pledges. Although, he made mistakes in the C.I.O., the author states that his contributions for organized labor should not be forgotten.
