ABSTRACT
The article outlines the creation of new band saws. The author emphasizes the increasing importance of band sawing as a value-added in metal service centers. Because of the increasing demand of band saws, he suggests manufacturers to listen to saw operators, service personnel and shop management as to the proper design of a new band saw. If a new band saw's design addresses the needs of a particular market, it is claimed that saw manufacturers will achieve growth and profitability as well.
