ABSTRACT
The article reports that Sierra Pacific Resources, the holding company for two electric utilities in Nevada, has posted a decline in its net income in the third quarter of 2008. In addition, revenues declined by seven percent as the utility dealt with lower summer temperatures and a sluggish economy. Sierra Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Michael Yackira explains that the current economic downturn has impacted the company's operations.
