ABSTRACT
The article reports on the market performance of the life insurance companies in Canada in 2007. It is showed that the earnings growth has slowed from double-digit levels, thus the Bank of Canada estimates only 1% growth in the economy in 2008. The top three life insurance companies in terms of net premium written in 2007 include Sun Life Insurance (Canada) Ltd., Manufacturers Life Insurance Co. and Canada Life Insurance Co. of Canada.
