The article reports on the title insurance in the U.S. The title insurance covers a property owner from the risk that the title to real estate may contain defects, liens or encumbrances. It relies on the level of house prices and the demand for housing for revenues. It is indicated that the tightening mortgage market in the country coupled with a slowdown in real estate activity has been a significant drag on title insurers.
