ABSTRACT
The article features the Population, the first company in Australia specialising in social media marketing. The start-up team includes non-executive director Mat Baxter, partner and senior strategist Ben Cooper, propagation planner Nikki Stammers, and social media strategist Julian Cole. Thomas notes that social media marketing has been the domain of a few smart people in Australia. According to Cooper, it is becoming evident that social media provides the biggest opportunity for brands to know that people think about them.
