ABSTRACT
The article presents information on steps that the author feels should be taken by people interested in purchasing or selling a financial planning business. Several different approaches to selling a financial planning business are discussed, including being proactive when choosing a business. Questions that the author recommends financial planners ask before they sell themselves to another company are mentioned, such as do both companies treat clients in similar fashions. Steps that the article recommends companies take regarding staffing after they purchase a company are mentioned.
