The article presents the autoamputation of pedunculated duodenal polyp which demonstrated endoscopic features beneficial to its aetiopathogenesis speculation. The pathogenetic hypothesis of the case is presented, which may occur at the gastrointestinal segment at the retroperitoneum after its elongated-stalk phase. It resolves that the chronic ischemic damage is only subjected to the entire polyp and does not affect the prolapsed bowel mucosa.

Background: Mucosectomy involves resection of a digestive wall fragment that frequently removes a part or even all of the submucosal mass. The single-band mucosectomy technique was used to remove a granular cell tumor (GCT) of the esophagus. Only 3% of GCTs, which are relatively...

Heterotopic pancreas, also known as ectopic pancreas, is found mainly in the stomach, duodenum, or jejunum. Pancreatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PanIN) is the non-invasive precursor of pancreatic cancer and gastritis cystica profunda (GCP) is considered a precursor of gastric cancer. As with...

The diagnosis of diffuse-type gastric cancer, named linitis plastica (LP), is difficult because of its infiltration into the submucosa. Conventional endoscopic biopsy sampling may show false-negative results because the superficial mucosa is often normal. These macroscopic features do not often...
