ABSTRACT
The article discusses the risk factors for the development of heart disease, based on the cohort study of director Thomas R. Dawber at Framingham Heart Study. The Framingham risk management tool is used to calculate the risk of developing a myocardial infarction and at the same time used as integral component of the Adult Treatment Panel III guidelines for the evaluation. In the clinical trial, homocysteine referred to a sulfur-containing amino acid generated during metabolism.
