ABSTRACT
The article discusses research on the efficacy of famciclovir as treatment for patients with recurrent genital herpes outbreaks. It references a study published in a 2008 issue of the "Clinical Infectious Diseases." Findings of the study show that one day treatment of famciclovir is equivalent to three days of valacyclovir treatment. Also noted are the other regimens for treatment of recurrent HSV.
