ABSTRACT
The article discusses the chemical company Dow which is suggesting that laboratories use carbon dating technology to identify renewable content in foams. At the Polyurethanes 2008 Technical Conference in San Antonio, Texas, Dow officials claimed that carbon dating analysis would enable the industry to help identify the bio-based content in the products it creates. The Method ASTM D6866 test that can measure the percentage of bio-based carbon in a material is discussed.
