ABSTRACT
The article discusses the long waits at gas pumps and gas shortages following Hurricane Ike and Hurricane Gustav. According to the article, the shortages extended into unaffected areas far from the coast that had no emergency plans in place. Comments from home health worker Mary Zagajeski regarding the gas shortages in the southern U.S. are also included.
