The article reports that Indian tire maker JK Tyre & Industries Ltd., the new owner of Mexico's Compania Hulera Tornel SA. de CV, is aiming for sales of $250 million in North America by the end of 2009. JK Tyre bought Tornel in May for $68 million. JK is the world's 23rd-largest tire maker with the sales of $780 million in 2007. According to managing director R.P. Singhania, the company plans to launch the Tornel and JK radial passenger truck brands to U.S. customers in the summer of 2009.
