The article reports on the agreement signed by the grid operators of Bosnia, Croatia, Hungary and Romania to develop a region-wide gas network for central and southeast Europe. The transmission system operators agreed to form a joint venture to handle financing and construction of the New European Transmission System (Nets), and resolve legal and regulatory issues. Austria and Romania have also expressed an interest in Nets, creating a potential 27,000 kilometer network.
