ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the Island Adventure camp provided by the Installation Management Command-Europe (IMCOM) to children of U.S. deployed servicemembers. According to program director Joe Marton of IMCOM-Europe Child and Youth Services, the Camp Adventure, Resilience, Memories, Youth (A.R.M.Y.) Challenge is all about youth empowerment. The program, held in Langeoog, Germany, gave children of deployed servicemembers an opportunity to experience the benefits of an extended family.
