ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the general strike held by textile workers in Paterson, New Jersey in September 1934. Francis J. Gorman, chairman of the strike committee and vice-president of United Textile Workers of America, decided to stop the strike following the urgent request made by U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The author asserts that Christians are responsible for protesting against such a pagan system of exploitation. In the author's opinion, only God knows whether socialization or cooperative ownership the solution to the problem.
