ABSTRACT
The article reports on the move of World Bank Group to promote war chest by $1 billion in the combat against Malaria in Africa. According to Robert Zoellick, bank group's president, the financial commitment would assist African countries in expanding malaria prevention, treatment programmes and reduce the numbers of malaria-related deaths. It is stated that the bank is also making a priority to work in DR Congo and Nigeria which account for 30% to 40% of all malaria deaths worldwide.
