ABSTRACT
This section offers world news briefs as of October 3, 1936. Democratic party strategists were called to a conference at Hyde Park by U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt on September 24. The Blum government of France had an agreement with 34,000 textile workers at Lille which ended the strike. Spanish radicals in Havana, Cuba set a dynamite bomb at the Pais publication office because of their resentment of sympathy of the newspaper for the Nationalist cause in Spain.
