This section offers world news briefs as of October 19, 1935. U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt issued two statements bearing on the Italian-Ethiopian conflict in October 1935 including the neutrality proclamation imposing an arms embargo on Italy and Ethiopia. On October 9, 1935, the First and Second Army Corps claimed possession of Adowa and Adigrat in Ethiopia. Adolf Hitler's Minister for Church Affairs Hans Kerri took over command of the Protestant Church in Germany.
