ABSTRACT
The article reports on the move of Towbin Automotive Enterprises to switch its West Sahara Hummer Dealership sales to smart fortwo, tiny, two-seat coupes by Daimler-Benz. Chairman Dan Towbin revealed that the switch from Hummers to the tiny cars was a coincidence, though he admitted that fuel economics played a role in its decision to sell it Hummer unit. He added that with regards to segments such as large sport utility vehicles (SUV), the business model was not profitable enough to continue on with.
