ABSTRACT
The article presents the author's view on the 2008 edition of the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) in Chicago, Illinois. He cites that the health of the industrial laser sector is critical to the overall laser economic situation. According to the author, the applications and industries at IMTS are so diverse and so subject to differing economic pressures. He asserts that diversity will play a role in supporting business in the industrial laser sector.
