ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the comparison of manufacturing times for creating molds and mold inserts in direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) against traditional machining processes by Linear Mold & Engineering in the U.S. It demonstrates that DMLS significantly reduces production times and costs. According to the article, cost savings using DMLS range between 15 and 30 percent.
