ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the growing phenomenon called superfoods which are defined as food with special nutritional properties. The term has become a buzzword in the Irish supermarkets, advertising campaigns and in the media. According to Healthfocus International study, 68% of Irish shoppers always or usually buy food for health reasons. Therefore, it is no surprise that superfood becomes a hit in supermarkets.
