ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decision of Tanaiste and Minister for Enterprise Mary Coughlan to continue her focus on driving down consumer prices in Ireland. According to Coughlan, she will be tough on retailers who are not doing what they can to offer lower prices to consumers. On the other hand, Jacob Fruitfield Foods Ltd. chairman Michael Carey urges the Government to seek ways in which it could reduce costs for Irish manufacturers.
