The article discusses the study by Ito and colleagues on the development of a bifacial cell for photovoltaic power generation. It is said that the bifacial cell involves placing dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) in front of a white or semitransparent reflector in order to collect light from both sides. Also, the researchers used silicon dioxide (SiO2) on the back of a cell, as well as an optimized thickness for the titanium dioxide (TiO2) in order to maintain transparency.
