ZF pioneers volume production of hybrid drives

The article reports that ZF Sachs in Friedrichshafen, Germany has opened its first facility in Europe for its DynaStart, a volume production of hybrid drive modules. Mercedes-Benz is the first company that ordered the S-Class from ZF. It notes that ZF will start the production of DynaStart in the fourth quarter of 2008. Hans-Georg Härter, chief executive officer (CEO) of ZF, believes that the hybrid technology will gain ground because it protects the environment and pays off for motorists.
