ABSTRACT
The article discusses educational research that counters the belief that children who are kept out of kindergarten longer perform better academically. Economics professor Darren Lubotsky comments on a study that suggests older kindergarten students do not posses a greater aptitude for learning but have a temporary academic advantage due to skills learned at home and at preschool. Lubotsky noted that test scores of older student decline over time.
