ABSTRACT
The article reports on an advertisement (ad) for Silver State Bank of Henderson, Nevada which implies that the company was sound and secure. The ad, which was placed a day before the bank was seized by federal and state regulators, says that many of the strongest businesses in the state are trusting the bank. But according to data from global law firm Jones Day, customers had yanked $264 million of $1.7 billion in deposits at Silver State between June 30 and September 4, 2008.
