ABSTRACT
The article offers information on the flora and fauna found in the Amazon rain forest. An estimated 1,500 bird species like Toucans, 3,000 fish species and 30 million insect species reportedly live in the Amazon. Rubber trees and emergents, trees that grow to more than 165 feet, are also found in the Amazon. Other resources found in the Amazon are coffee, lemons and vanilla, and trillium flowers that can cure snakebites.
