ABSTRACT
The article reports on the 6.6% increase in unemployment rate in Nevada in July 2008, according to the state Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR). 94,900 people are currently unemployed as compared to 67,700 in the same period in 2007. DETR chief economist Bill Anderson blames the labor market problems to a combination of seasonal layoffs and economic malaise.
